We sell homes here, so discount everything we say — and check the facts instead. They hold up on their own.
THE AWARDS. At the World Travel Awards in December 2025, Madeira was named World’s Leading Island Destination for the eleventh consecutive year — ahead of Bali, Hawaii, Mauritius, Seychelles and Zanzibar. Eleven straight years is not a lucky vote; it is a pattern.
THE SAFETY. Portugal ranks 7th safest country in the world on the 2025 Global Peace Index — behind only Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Austria, Switzerland and Singapore. On an island of half a million people, that global statistic becomes a daily texture: children walk to school, keys get forgotten in doors, nothing much happens. Wonderfully.
THE CLIMATE. The “island of eternal spring” is a measurement, not a slogan: Funchal runs roughly 17°C in January to 26°C in August at sea level — an annual swing of six to seven degrees, with the sheltered south coast (where we build) driest and warmest. The Atlantic swims at 18–24°C year round.
